Meet Our Professional Support Team
Our Director of Operations, Lucy Garcia, was born and raised in a small rural town in Mexico. She is a mother of two beautiful girls and has lived in the city of Chicago since 1995. Lucy came to the United States when she was 18 years old. Like many other people, she came to this country to live the American Dream. Born to a humble family, Lucy learned about hard work, honesty and passion for work.
With almost 13 years of experience in the legal field, Lucy has developed into a person with an aggressive and honest attitude for those people who put food on their table for their loved ones. Lucy loves and cares for her clients as if they were family to her. After working at two personal injury/workers’ compensation firms, Lucy came to Thomas Law in January 2014.
Amber Schmude
Law Clerk
Amber, originally from Canton, Michigan, moved to Chicago in March 2021 to pursue a degree in criminology while also participating in the honors program and the 3+3 law program at DePaul University. She graduated magna cum laude in 2024 and is currently a law student at DePaul University College of Law. As a law clerk at our firm, Amber brings a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. She currently lives in Evanston with her boyfriend and dog, balancing her professional aspirations with a love for family and community.
Jac Pytlik

Jac started at Thomas Law in the fall of 2024. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2021 with a degree in stage management. Jac is excited to continue learning, growing, and making a difference in the lives of those she works with. In her free time, Jac likes reading thrillers, exploring her neighborhood and cross-stitching.
Bryana Barron
Assistant to Attorneys
A proud South Side Chicago native, Bryana is deeply influenced by her hometown’s rich and vibrant culture. She earned her bachelor’s in education from a liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, and right after graduating during the pandemic, she dove into teaching at a bilingual school on the South Side. There, her passion for diversity, equity, and empowering students truly blossomed.
As her journey unfolded, Bryana pivoted toward law, eager to continue advocating for justice in a new way. Outside of her professional life, she’s an avid traveler, always seeking new adventures and experiences. Her diverse background in education, law, and global exploration shapes her unique perspective on the world.
Ashley Aguilar
Legal Assistant
Ashley is a dedicated legal assistant at Thomas Law, bringing a unique blend of cultural experiences and professionalism to her role. Originally from Dallas, TX, and San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Ashley has many places to call home. In 2023, she made the decision to move to Chicago, where she began her legal career. With her strong work ethic and bilingual skills, Ashley is a valued member of the team. Outside of work, Ashley is a devoted wife and mother to a 3-year-old son. She also enjoys trying out new cooking recipes in her free time.
